So excited to take part in the West Georgia Community Foundations first juried art exhibit. The goal of this exhibit is for the artist to create works that express what community means to them. I created the painting to the right called. "Together there is Hope". My goal with this painting is to target what we all know in ourselves. That is we have to have the same vision of the kind of community we want but there are lots of ways to achieve that vision. As long as we can agree on the "what" we want ie: I want to live in a community where all people have a chance to flourish, I want to live in a community where I can walk to stores, ride my bike through nature trails and attend cultural events on a regular basis. I want to have access to healthcare , and know that my medical needs can be met. These are just a few of the things I want in my community. How to achieve these things? That is the easy part. What type of community do you want to be a part of?
